Traffic Through DOT and NHTSA Revolving Door – In and Out

Dear Care for Crash Victims Community Members:

Consumer groups document and protest while officials belly through the Revolving Door as the nation approaches its 4 millionth death and 1 billionth injury due to vehicle violence.  See https://www.careforcrashvictims.com/death-clock/

Consumer Watchdog releases documents at

Washington Post that has added to its masthead the words “Democracy Dies in The Dark” reports on comments by former DOT Secretary Foxx and Zoox CEO Tim Kentley-Klay at https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dr-gridlock/wp/2017/04/04/consumer-group-calls-foul-after-former-highway-safety-chief-joins-self-driving-car-startup/?utm_term=.4f0d1480ff93

Note: Americans are suffering and dying in the dark at the rate of more than 100 deaths per day and 400 serious injuries such as paraplegia, burns, amputations, and brain injuries each and every average day in the U.S.A. today from vehicle violence.  See https://www.careforcrashvictims.com/assets/NHTSA-economicimpact-2000.pdf  And see
https://www.careforcrashvictims.com/assets/812013.pdf

NHTSA currently values each vehicle violence death at $9.6 million.  Thus the fatality losses alone are estimated by NHTSA to equal about $1 Billion per day.

All this at a time when NHTSA data indicates that the number of fatalities in 2016 will be the highest in over a decade.  See

The NY Times piece by Ditlow and Nader warned about the problems at NHTSA.  See https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/29/opinion/weak-oversight-deadly-cars.html

When will we ever learn?
